Brown Recluse Spider . . ..
At this time of year, this is worth seeing.
Show this picture to your spouse, your kids, grandkids, and friends. It could save their lives. Remember what this spider looks like and be careful while cleaning, as told below.
It's summertime & cleanup is going on. Be careful where you put your hands. They like dark spaces & woodpiles. Also cool areas in the attic............................................
The Brown Recluse Spider is the most dangerous spider that we have here in the USA.
A person can die from its bite. We all should know what the spider looks like.
Send this around to people you love, because it is almost summertime.
People will be digging around, doing yard work, spring cleaning, and sometimes in their attics.
Please be careful.
Spider bites are dangerous and can have permanent and highly negative consequences.
They like the darkness and tend to live in storage sheds, attics, or other areas that might not be frequented by people or light.
If you have a need to be in your attic, go up there and turn on a light and leave it on for about 30 minutes before you go in to do your work.

Most of the spiders in my area are the Daddy-Longlegs and the redbacks, similar to your Black Widow, but with a red stripe on their backs. A few other types but rarely seen by me unless I do some cleaning out in the garden.
Spiders. Ugh.
Luckily most spiders here are harmless
I am a spider whisperer. I leave them alone and let them do their job.
I just want to say something else. In the last 5-10 years it is estimated that one person died from a Brown Recluse spider bite. Compare that to the over 300,000 people who died from coronary heart disease in 2018 alone. I think you'll find that your bacon is a far greater health risk than any spider.
Lady - My family's old house had a brown recluse infestation. My sister was bitten and had to have shots around the bite to keep from having a pit in her flesh. We had to have the house fumigated.
True most spiders help keep insect pests down.
So much for the friendly spider in Charlotte's Web.
Years ago I had a boss who moved into a house that had a bad Brown Recluse problem. It took him months to get it under control.
Oh man! We do have centipedes with a nasty bite and some people are allergic to them. It could be really dangerous. Shake out your shoes before you put them on. In fact, that is why we do not wear shoes in Hawaii. Aloha
A friend was visiting Colorado and one went into her suitcase unbeknownst to her. Upon arriving back in PA she was bit by the little sucker. She was hospitalized and lost a very large chunk of her calf. It was scary and painful for her. A full week in the hospital. We were all happy she didn't lose her leg.
Kirk - These are nasty little buggers.
Kathy - You have to be careful of everything you pick up.
Cloudia - I don't think I could give up shoes. But I definitely check them.
Peg - You have to get to a doctor as soon as possible.
