This sort of a long article. And there is a 5 minute video at the end. But if your still in the workforce, it's a must read. If your not in the work force anymore, it's good for a laugh.

There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

The shift happened before I Retired and so I adjusted my attitude to match the Employers and used my own leverage to get what I wanted, no Loyalty means reciprocity of NO Loyalty, it's quite simple. Companies will get in return what they deserve in how well, or unwell, they treat Employees and that will cost them, dearly in fact. Becoz the Simple Truth is that the Employees, whether they know it or not, hold the Power really, their performance dictates how successful, or unsuccessful, any Company is. The CEO is merely like a any Leader, and if nobody is following, you're not Leading anything, you're just taking a Walk by yourself. It is Sad tho', that our Kids and Grandkids won't have Pensions or Loyal Employers, or even work with Loyal Co-Workers who Care about what they're doing. If you know your Employer cares not about you, don't expect the person hired to give Two Shits about the Company either, they won't.
I might add that many a Centuries Old Company has gone Tits Up becoz of this shift in Company lack of Loyalty to their People.
Some of my kids have mentioned this shift.
I saw this attitude in the early 80's. Sadly it's not new. The problem as I see it is the same one we have as a nation. Biggest asshole in the world in charge right now. Assholes are rewarded. The only solution is to get rid of the assholes. I'm no longer particular as to how.
i'm somewhere inbetween working..... not working...... and not being able to work..... sort of in limbo.....
AT&T changed dramatically while I was there.
I think this is why kids jump jobs. For one thing there is no accrued pension to keep them there.
"in the world" That's for darn sure.
I don't know how good the UK's safety net is, but I assume it's better than the US.
CEO of AT&T? Hang up on him.
You mean hang him up.
I think we're all in agreement that the bean counters cannot count human nature or psychology and are screwing us all for a few extra pennies or billions depending on their level.
