There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

About 35 years ago, when I was an AF 2nd Lieutenant, my job was to oversee the construction of top secret flight charts our aircrews would use in war. The crews were required to come to our vault and study them at least once a week, and we had a large room set aside for that purpose. One day I was standing in the latrine doing my business when from the stall behind me I heard a loud flapping noise...I turned to look and saw, under the door, a pair of feet with a flight suit bagged around them, and one of my lovingly-constructed flight charts, accordioned down to the floor while the crewman read it on the john. Oh, well...at least he was reading it.
