622 - Becky - civil liberties

Becky's got a good civil liberties post today. Lots of good links in the post to look at. Ever hear of the Posse Comitatus Act?

All military officers know about the Posse Comitatus Act...it's what prevents the military from being used to enforce civil law unless in extreme circumstances and under specific presidential authorization. It's one of the things drilled into us before commissioning. I need to spend some more time looking at Becky's post on civil liberties, but my initial read was that it was a bit long on shrill and short on reasoned analysis. More later.
