1859 - Two girls and a video camera

I saw a video at Alabama Noise. (NSFW) I sent it to Jay and Matt. Of course Jay had seen it already. He sent me another video which lead me to these girl's video catch. They have 46 of them with varing degrees of NSFW or NSFK in them. Here's one with just a few dirty words.

Here's the link to all of them.

1855 - Santorum

Overheard at a bar last night...

'I thought Santorum didn't believe in pulling out.'

Then John Stewart saying "It's OVER!."

And as long as were piling on....
From an article in the Huffington Post.

"Our research shows that low-effort thought promotes political conservatism, not that political conservatives use low-effort thinking."

1852 - Headlines

Funny headlines? Well, sort of. These are yesterdays headlines.

Mission Now, Gingrich Says, Is to Keep Romney From Turning to the Center

That's right.... I mean that's left. No wait! That's center! Well seems like the Gingrich is scared to death that Romney might drift away from the right edge of the loony bin. Heaven forbid somebody might actually have the concerns of most of America in mind. And Romney has proven to be left and right at the same time. It's a win win.

The Right Flames the Volt (the car)

The last paragraph of the article explains it all.

With seven months to go before the election, Cavuto and his Fox News brethren will have plenty of opportunities to denigrate an innovative car, employing American technology and creating American jobs, in order to besmirch a president who had nothing to do with it.
It is, after all, what they do.

Just how big are porn sites?

This isn't about porn. No really! It's about internet traffic. No really. Just because the article mentions some of the biggest porn sites on the net doesn't mean you should go to them. Just read the article with nerdy internet ...... something ... in mind. Anyway, it seems porn sites generate A LOT of internet traffic. A LOT. (And don't go to those sites!)

1846 - N*****r

Andrea found this. I thought I'd pass it along.

It was close but revealing nonetheless. On Wednesday, during a campaign stop in Janesville, Wisconsin, Rick Santorum spoke to a crowd and nearly called President Obama a ‘n****r’ before stopping himself in the middle of the word.

Santorum: “We know the candidate Barack Obama, what he was like, the anti-war government nigg… America was a source for division around the world, that what we were doing was wrong.”

Did Santorum almost call President Obama the N-word? It certainly sounds like it. Like many conservatives around the country, Santorum has displayed a tendency to inject racism into his rhetoric. Newt Gingrich has called President Obama the “food stamp President.” Santorum once said he didn’t want to make black people’s lives better. Rush Limbaugh has referred to the President as “Barack the magic Negro.” And conservatives have made efforts to pass birther bills all as a response to the color of our President’s skin. Though Santorum managed to stop himself, the damage has already been done. For any Presidential candidate to even come close to using such a word on the national stage is unacceptable. It not only reveals the rampant racism and feelings of white supremacy residing in Santorum’s twisted soul, it reveals the rampant racism and white supremacy feelings that have taken over the Republican Party.

1814 - Con Lib Mod

In 1814 we took at trip. Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'. .... OK, I'll stop before somebody powders my behind. Let's get on to the real post about politics. Right?! I know you want more political sh**.

Well here's an interesting Bill Moyers piece on the difference between Liberals and Conservatives. It's an interesting look at the moral prospectives of both sides. Here's a tell all graph from the show.

And here's the Bill Moyers show it came from. If I remember right this is a two part show with the first half being about this topic. Maybe not.

And then here's Claire McCaskill talking about moderates. This is only 3-4 minutes long.

And nobody caught my 1812 Overture reference the other day. Or if they did they ignored it.

Another addition. We were coming back home yesterday afternoon and Claudia goes, "do those shingles look like they're loose?" Yes, yes they do. So I spent ... not to long, up on the roof tacking some shingles back down.

1778 - Why Evangelicals Hate Jesus

OK OK, as the author points out in the article they really don't hate Jesus. They just selectively like certain things and ignore others. Here's a bit from the article.

Jesus was very clear that the pursuit of wealth was inimical to the Kingdom of God, that the rich are to be condemned, and that to be a follower of Him means to give one's money to the poor. And yet Evangelicals are the most supportive of corporate greed and capitalistic excess, and they are the most opposed to institutional help for the nation's poor -- especially poor children. They hate anything that smacks of "socialism," even though that is essentially what their Savior preached.

The article is not all that long. Go HERE to read it.

1776 - The newt, the ship

I should be doing a patriotic post for post number 1776. Well maybe this is. Patriotic information about a presidential candidate.

Here's some more info about the newt. It seems the wanna be candidate for the family values party was a deadbeat dad to his kids. Here's a link to the ARTICLE. But I'm going to copy the whole article here to make sure the link doesn't go dead.

********

I'm generally of the camp that believes a politician's personal life has little to no bearing on whether or not he can be a good leader. Meaning, I don't really care whether or not my president had an affair with an intern or sneaks cigarettes in the Oval Office, as long as he or she is smart, fair, responsible and honest (about things like taxes and war, not sex and smoking). But the latest dirt on Newt Gingrich is basically proof that Gingrich is NOT fair, responsible, or honest. (The jury is still out on "smart.")

According to recently released divorce documents from Gingrich's split with first wife Jackie Battley, the Republican was more than just a crappy husband. He was also allegedly a deadbeat dad!

The papers filed by Gingrich's then-wife state:

Despite repeated notice to plaintiff and requests by defendant, plaintiff has failed and refused to voluntarily provide reasonable support sufficient to include payment of usual and normal living expenses, including drugs, water, sewage, garbage, gas, electric and telephone service for defendant and the minor children ... As a result, many of such accounts are two or three months past due with notices of intent to cut off service and gas and electricity.

Nice, really nice. He was so caught up in his political career -- or pursuit of second wife Callista, perhaps -- that he couldn't be bothered to make sure his kids had electricity? Apparently things got so desperate for the family that the church collected donations to help pay the bills until a judge finally ordered Gingrich to make monthly payments.

Financially neglecting to support his own flesh and blood is, to me, a "personal" issue that is extremely relevant to Gingrich's presidential potential. There's a tremendous difference between a politician
indulging a vice and a man failing to take care of his family. Is Gingrich really going to care about the countless Americans affected by the recession when he allowed his children to literally become charity cases?

1754 - It's started

From an article in the New York Times...

In one of the most conservative pockets in the state, the northwestern Iowa town of Alton, a supporter of Mr. Romney urged Republicans gathered at a firehouse to resist “throwing your vote away.”

I'm sorry Mr. Supporter of whomever. That's all anyone does with the election system we have is throw your vote away.

And from Addicting Info...

I am not a fan of Ron Paul. At all. That being said, WOW! Fox REALLY doesn’t like him! It’s almost a pathological hatred.

I already knew Fox was not enamored of Ron Paul but tonight clinches it beyond any doubt. With over 90% of the votes in from the Iowa caucus, Ron Paul trails both Romney and Santorum (tied at 25%) with a very respectable 21%. This is close enough that any objective read of the results would be that it is a competitive three way race.

But we are talking about Fox. Ron Paul just gave a short speech urging his followers to keep fighting on to New Hampshire. MSNBC showed it. CNN showed it. Fox? They had an empty podium on screen while they waited for Newt Gingrich to come out. Newt came in a distant fourth with only 13% of the vote but, for some bizarre reason, he was more important than Dr. Paul.

Fox? Unfair? Unbalanced? Say it ain't so!

This is for an average house in an average school district.

1728 - Politics

Politics. Here's a good interview by Charlie Rose with Matthew Dowd, once Democrat, once Republican, now Independant, about the state of affairs these days. (35 minutes)

Here's a post from John. This needs to be shared with everyone.

And in case you noticed the upper left hand corner of the picture, here's the SITE.

1721 - Oops

With Ron Paul in the race most of the republican candidates shouldn't have a chance. But we all know how that works. Here's a Ron Paul take on Newt. (and politics in general)

1687 - Politics

I know. I pick on Republicans more than Democrats. That's because they've earned it over years. With a little help from the Huffington Post we now have a Republican dictionary. Here are the first few entries.

•America (United States of): A country located in the N. Western Hemisphere that is #1.
•Bible: A sacred text that provides incontestable answers when thumped.
•Birth Certificate: An official birth record required of all US Presidents, regardless of race, since 2008.
•Capitalism: A system of economic organization that has never been attempted.
•Christmas: A holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, now rarely celebrated due to persecution by atheists.
•Compromise: (uncommon) A form of political suicide.

For the rest of them go HERE.

1640 - Politics and is more Wright wrong?

From Michael Bloomberg on Charley Rose.

~ We had one accident where two firefighters were killed during the cleanup of the world trade center (for rebuilding). Except for that one incident we haven't had any deaths during the rebuilding of the world trade center. .....

WTF? Did he just say that except for the people that died nobody died?

From the Tea Party debates about Perry's mandated vaccination program.

~ And Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, looking to siphon support from Perry's base of evangelical and tea party supporters, said: "To have innocent little 12-year-old girls be forced to have a government injection through an executive order is just flat out wrong." She also noted that that the company that makes the vaccine, Merck & Co., employed Mike Toomey, Perry's former chief of staff, as a lobbyist in Texas, and that the drug company had donated to Perry's campaigns. .....

A government injection?! You want to see some government mandated injections? Join the service. You'll feel like a pincushion after the first week.

1629 - Go ahead and vote. See if it matters.

This is a documentary from 2006. It's about the Diebold voting machines and how they can be hacked. How Diebold won't admit it. And how some people proved it.

So you say they've had time to fix them? Well they told some people back in 2006 that everything was fixed. It wasn't.

The film is broken down into three segments for YouTube. 29 minutes, 29 minutes and 22 minutes. If you don't want to watch the whole thing (you should) just watch the last 22 minute segment. The title of the video is Hacking Democracy. The person posting this added their own title comment 'PROOF ELECTIONS ARE RIGGED!'. I think it should have said proof elections CAN be rigged and some were.

Hey it's Saturday. You're just sitting around doing nothing anyway, right?

Now that you've watched that you're looking for more info right? Here's some links.

http://blackboxvoting.org/ The group that was formed because of the documentary.
http://www.hackingdemocracy.com/ The site about the movie.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacking_Democracy The Wikipedia link.

And then I found this little tidbit on one of the sites about how an election programmer learned his election programming trade in jail.

Elections programmer Jeffrey Dean was convicted on 23 counts of felony embezzlement by rigging a computer system to steal money from a law firm whose partners included Watergate figure Egil Krogh. He began working on elections programming while still in prison, on work release.

Diebold memos show that he was involved in development of GEMS central tabulator "double set of books," optical scan absentee "vote remote" system, and more. Shortly after being released from prison, together with John Elder, a narcotics trafficker Dean met in prison, Dean began doing computerized ballot printing and created mail-in ballot software, with a company called "Spectrum Print & Mail." He sold this company to another company, "Global Election Systems", which had been founded by three swindlers, two of whom did prison time (the third was ordered by the courts to pay hundreds of thousands in restitution for bilking investors.) Dean took a position as the main stockholder and head of programming for Global Election Systems; Diebold purchased Global Election Systems in 2002, retaining most of the programmers that built the swiss cheese "open for business" voting system.

1610 - Facts... or not

From the headlines.

Michele Bachmann wins Iowa straw poll

I guess that's because the Republicans love their distorted facts.

From the PolitiFact truth-o-meter.

Bachman said - When Standard & Poor's "dropped our credit rating, what they said is, we don't have an ability to repay our debt. ... I was proved right in my position" that the debt ceiling should not have been raised.

What Standard & Poor's actually said was that politicians in Washington can't agree on long-term solutions for how to reduce the debt -- not that the country is or was unable to pay its debts. The notion that the report supported her position is wishful thinking. For that, we rate her statement False.

1602 - ARRGGGHHHH

Ah the debt ceiling. Ah the credit rating. Ah the republican plan to make Obama a one term president. Going well isn't it?

The chart is the short version of THIS ARTICLE.

And then the problem with instant news really showed up yesterday. ... The credit rating is going down! No wait, they changed their mind. It's not going down! The credit rating went down!

That's the last I heard.

Isn't S&P the same group that gave all those bad home loans a AAA rating?

And then I heard something on the news about the worlds longest yard sale. And I thought, aren't they all just three feet long?
