1177 - Montebello

Montebello - or not.

Below is a picture that I got in an email along with an explanation of what was going on. The only problem is that it WASN'T what was going on.

Montebello High School in California

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times, nor on the lead story of the major news networks. The protesters at Montebello High School took the American flag off the school's flag pole and hung it upside down while putting up the Mexican flag over it.

This goes all the way back to 2006. When Students from two OTHER high schools played a prank on Montebello high school. The students in the picture are NOT from Montebello. Don't we have enough problems with this subject without making stuff up?

SNOPES

And I guess I'll have to repost my American flag post too.

And I almost forgot about Friday the 13th today!

It's been a long time since we could say that "pictures don't lie." A little cropping, a little Photoshop, and a lot of out-of-context goes a long way.
