The Friday newspaper took up a whole page from the 2009 American Housing Survey from HUD. It said if I wanted more information to go to www.hud.gov. This is where information overload starts. Access to the data can be found ON THIS PAGE. DON'T CLICK YET!!!! That just takes you to a page that has data sets. Lots of them. You ever open a data set file? Don't bother. You need a data set file reader. I think they provide access to one but I'm not sure. I didn't go that far. If somebody does let me know how it turned out.
In one of these files there's information on:
Abandoned/vandalized bldgs withn 1/2 blk
Trash/junk in streets/prprtys in 1/2 blk
Bldgs w/ bars on windows within 1/2 blk
Apartment bldgs within 1/2 block of unit
Height of apt bldgs within 1/2 blk
Roads within 1/2 block need repairs
Etc. x (where's the infinity button?)
You can go back to the HUD link above and get lost forever gathering information. When your head explodes be sure to video it so someone can upload it for our entertaining viewing pleasure.
Oh, and they also have facebook and twitter links.
JUST A REMINDER...

Ha. I hate sites like that, but you've convinced to take a look and see if my head really will explode. Cheers Mike!!
There's information, and there's enlightenment. I think you know the difference.
I'm sure all that data will come in very useful for me somehow. Maybe there will be a Jeopardy question that I can answer with it.
I love information - it's my drug of choice!
*clicks to get my fix*
I'm not going to any of those links, but I must tell you that I read many of David Thorne's exchanges yesterday.
MM - I think I just heard a 'pop' from the east.
B - So you don't think knowing the average number of houses with bars on the windows within a half a block is enlightening? Like time to start a nieghborhood watch?
J - If you memorize this stuff you'll have Alex beat hands down.
D - You're going to be high for a month.
B - Bandit called me today. He is really getting into 27b/6. (http://www.27bslash6.com)
