I was hitting keys to fast. All of a sudden my IE8 expanded to full screen. WTF! The header was gone as well as the footer. It was BIG! How do I get back?
As it turns out I hit the F11 key. It toggles between full screen and back again. Want to see ALL the short cut keys for IE8?

There will be a test sometime in the future.
Also, when the screen is expanded, putting the cursor in the upper right hand corner brings the header back temporarily.

Hey! Before I came here, I was cleaning my keyboard and Google Chrome went to full screen. F11 gets it out of there too. BUT, I now have the HTML code at the bottom of the screen ...
