1809 - Gas mileage

Popular Mechanics has an article about small cars and gas mileage. It seems Chevy is coming out with a twelve foot long car called the Spark. An electric car? No no, I think they just want the name to sound electric. The American public wouldn't fall for deceptive advertising would they?

So here's a little diddy from the article.

...the main reason to drive such a small car would be: (a) that it's cheap and (b) that it gets great fuel economy.

Ehhhhh maybe not. Go read the article.

It ends with 'Every car design is a compromise.' That's true. And who wants to drive a small car and get killed, right? Let's drive pickups and be safe. Like this guy.... oops. (Yes there's a scrunched pickup under the front of the first bus.)

Ewww....I'll pass on that one. While I don't require a Hummer, I think that one gives little protection in case of an accident.

I remember writing a blog post a few years ago about a guy who actually built a replica of a WWII German tank and drives it around his neighborhood. That's what I want. But only if it comes with guns.

I wqonder how driving a Spark translates into driving on North Dakota roads in winter.

EPT - Well as the guy in the pickup found out, sometimes you're just a gonner.

B - Tell me when you get ready to drive your tank to the Pentagon. I want to be there to record your last moments on earth.

BO - You could put a sail on it and probably go anywhere you wanted.

I know this shouldn't be consideration, but that Spark is a nonintimidator when it comes to looks. Is that color scheme dork green?

E - I gave up on intimidating cars along time ago. Besides, I don't think anything could live up to the memory of my 68 Charger.
