When is a word to long? I think if you have to take a breath to keep saying or spelling the word, you need to create a new word for that word. That said here's a long word in English...
antidisestablishmentarianism
But everyone knows that word right? How about this one...
hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
What's that you say? It's the fear of long words! You would think there would be a site dedicated to long words. And you would be right! It's right HERE.
Of course these are English words. What about other languages? Well I found a site. (Of course I did!) And on the page I found it starts out with short long words and winds up with this one.... (that they don't know what it means)
This is one of the longest words found in Finnish. It has exactly 1783 letters. I’ve no idea of its meaning, maybe someone who knows its meaning can post it to my comment section. I’d suggest that this stuff be used to test your spelling ability while reciting it from your memory to impress your friends.

That word is actually not in Finnish. It's in a dialect known as "GOP-Speak," and it means "Filibuster."
Wasn't it also the word some kid had to spell to win the national spelling bee back in the late 50's or early 60's?
That word is super long but whenever I think of children learning spelling, I think of little Thai kids that have to learn how to spell their own names!
Bilbo - All they have do do is say 'let me spell that for you' and the week is shot.
Claudia - The Finnish word would finish any spelling competition.
Amanda - Makes you wonder about some cutures.
It's almost impossible to come up with an opportunity to use some of those in a sentence.
Antidisestablishmenterianism would not apply here, thank god!
Duck - They are certainly not in my vocabulary.
