2137 - Warning - Luxottica

Well the phone rang the other day. It was Luxottica calling. Or I should say it was a fax machine at Luxottica calling ... and calling ... and calling. So I tried to call someone at Luxottica to find out who was calling. Needless to say it was an effort in futility. Why? Look at this...

Yes it seems that Luxottica, maker of Ray-Ban sunglasses, doesn't like to answer their phone. Or you get a machine. Leave a message. We'll get back to you when we feel like it which will be never.

I was reading a lot of comments on the Consumer affairs site and wow, seems like customer service has gone the way of the Dodo bird. At least at this company.

So if your thinking a plunking down $600 for a pair of sunglasses you may want to rethink the decision. Especially if your buying from one of these stores.

One, you can't return them. Two, if you try it will be your fault something went wrong. (Read the complaints on the link.)

Luxottica has more outlets that you can find out about HERE.

Adrian lost his tiny pair of sunglasses on our trip to NZ but needless to say, we wouldn't be buying him Ray Bans anyway.

Ray-Bans are a bit pricy for me, but thanks for the warning!

I'd never spend $600 on sunglasses even if there was customer service

You should track down the CEO of Luxottica and call him every 15 minutes all night long.

Amanda - Don't you want him to be 'cool'?

Angel - Forewarned is forearmed.

Dianne - Nor I.

Jay - But it's overseas long distance. Heeeyyyyy, you've got google phone, right?

Peg - It's American corporatism moved overseas.

Kristen - Apparently there are enough idiots out there to keep this line of glasses in business. Go figure.

Andrea - WTF indeed.
