Stick bombs. Ever heard of them? Me neither. Maybe from old Chinese culture they have suddenly evolved to compete with dominoes. When you first see this you will wonder how it works. I'm still not sure. Sticks releasing under tension is basically what is going on here.
The video says world record but I'm not sure of that. It's only 3 minutes long. And if you've never seen a stick bomb chain going off before it's more fun than dominoes.
So I investigated some more. I found THIS SITE. I think it's the guy that took stick bombs to a new level. There are more videos and lots of reading.
I think a short stick bomb would be a fun thing to do with the grandkids, right Bilbo? Say, 1000 tongue depressors?

The novelty of it is amazing!
That's actually pretty cool. Somebody had to put away a lot of Popsicles to set that up!

Jay - These are tongue depressors. i read that popsicle sticks are stiffer and run 3 times faster.

Stick bombs? Huh. These kids are so spoiled. All we had was stink bombs when I was a kid.
