I vaccinated all my children so they didn't get a bad case of DEATH (you know I used to be a nurse...I'm jaded).

Though I support a parent's right to make decisions about this, I get frustrated when I hear very flimsy rationale for not vaccinating. I hope I'm wrong, but I just think it borders on fad-ish.

Look at the numbers, people...read about families who suffered through these diseases. I had a grandmother (late 1800s) who had 15 children. Between the ages of 9 and 15, eight of those children died from diseases we now vaccinate for. I wish we could get her opinion.

Forward, into the past!

My daughter is a nurse practitioner and there are some vaccines she shies away from for my grandson. It worries me to some extent.

I had a measles-free and chicken pox-free childhood, thanks to vaccines. And BTW, no smallpox or polio. Thanks to vaccines.

No yellow jack, thanks to great public health!

My parents didn't play dice with their kids' lives.

Parents need to get theirs vaccinated. Is the anti-vax movement an odd mix of New Agers and Fundies?

It amazes me that some people ignore science to such an extent. If their kids were sick, they'd be demanding that something be done immediately. I wonder how many of them overuse antibiotics, thus contributing to more powerful germs...
