Yard work can make for great post material.
So after I cut the yews down in front I noticed the gutters on the house. The yews had been in them. They have gutter guards on them.
Of the 20 feet of them that were above the yews, about half were either flipped open or fallen off. So it's up on the roof we go.
I get up there and notice, naturally, that the gutter is full of leaves. So I decide to sit on the roof and scoop the crap out of the gutter before I put the guards back on. Did I mention that it was about 2 in the afternoon and the sun was out. It took about 2 minutes for a certain part of my anatomy to get way too hot. 'STAND UP STAND UP' it was hollering. So much for finishing that job.
So maybe I'll come back up some morning when it's ..... wait what's that? A broken shingle? And several loose shingles. And the chimney flashing is loose. Back down the ladder to get repair tools and supplies. Looks like I'm not getting off the roof anytime soon. At least I got something done.
Baby sitting all day today so no roof work. Maybe tomorrow. Or the next day.

My hubby and I would be hiring someone a little more agile to climb up and fix stuff. Be careful!
Going on the roof is hot and unpleasant. Be careful, Mike!
Ugh!
Seems like there is always work to do around a house. Postponing is part of the process. Good luck with it all! I agree to be careful. I've had my share of close calls fixing things.
