3526 - Consevative rant

I saw this letter to the editor in a local paper. It hits every republican talking point you can think of and then some. This woman is very unhappy. I don't think Trump can even help her.

Why Conservatives Won Across Nation

In this election, instead of voting for a person we voted for a party platform. That's why conservatives backed a cringe-worthy Republican candidate — because they are against a secular progressive ideology that hates God, tramples religious freedom, scoffs at a Biblical world view, redefines marriage, devalues unborn life and views the military as a social experimentation lab.

They opposed the unending expansion of federal government, increasing politicalization of federal government agencies such as the departments of State and of Justice, the IRS, EPA and FBI, and increased taxes at every level.

It's time to stop the entitlement explosion, over-regulation of small businesses, UN-affordable health care with diminishing choices, and the unsustainable increase in national debt.

We need real solutions to the continued breakdown of family, proliferation of drugs and rebellion against civil authorities and law enforcement encouraged by a deliberate fomenting of racial tensions that breed perpetual conflict and chaos. We are ready for an end to our government funding the abortion of innocent children and sale of their body parts, and to gender confusion that mainstreams same-sex marriage and transgender toilets.

Public education has rewritten American history. Federal and Supreme Court judges have begun bending the Constitution instead of enforcing it. Political correctness is at an extreme, perilous level. Porous or open borders and lack of immigration law enforcement have threatened our personal and national security.

New leadership promises to develop a strong new Middle East policy, call out the scourge of radical Islamic jihad, restore support for Israel, correct the current stream of denunciation and apologies for America, reverse the diminished role of the U.S. as a world leader, and make America great again.

This is an interesting letter, and mirrors the chatter I've heard for the last year from my conservative and libertarian friends. Bitching and complaining about the way things are and sending a lot of tweets is a lot easier than coming up with rational policies to address all these issues. Good luck with that in the next four years.
