Accidental shooting in Sunset Hills Home Depot restroom sends employee to hospital

SUNSET HILLS • A gun went off accidentally at the Home Depot store here Sunday, injuring a store employee, police said.
Sunset Hills police were dispatched to the store, at 10890 Sunset Hills Plaza, at about 11:50 a.m. for a report of a shooting in the store's restroom, police said.
Police said that the owner of the gun is unknown, but the investigation is ongoing. The employee was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
Police said someone dropped the gun, discharging one round. The bullet struck a employee, an adult male, in the leg, said Sgt. Robbie Hagen of the Sunset Hills Police Department.
Hagen said the employee was treated at a hospital for a non-life-threatening injury and released.
Hagen said the person who dropped the gun left the store and took the gun. She said police don't know who that person is. She said investigators were reviewing surveillance video from Home Depot on Monday to see if they can learn more.
Home Depot allows the open carry of firearms in accordance with local laws, Holmes said. Employees are not allowed to carry firearms, he said.

I was just there the other day picking up some sidewalk salt.
All I can say is YEEEEEEEEE HAAAA!

I'm not surprised, which is sad in itself.

That's a shame! People should not just carry guns for frivolous reasons.

Idiots. Why does one need a gun to go shopping?

Don't bring a gun to a shopping fight.
