There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

Wish you and your family a happy New Year 2017. Let this year be a happy one:) Agree with your words. Always old is gold. They live for longer period of time...
I've often wondered why we don't make cars and airplanes out of bakelite - they'd survive any crash. HNY to you and Claudia, too!
Those old phones would have survived nuclear war. Things were so overbuilt - like cars! And did you kids know that you could NOT own a phone?! It remained property of the phone company! Thanks for the memories, Mike
Good point about those old phones compared to their weak wimpy descendants of today. Now everything is disposable not expected to have a long life as they get replaced by the next technological wonder that comes along. Me? I like having a phone to make and receive calls on. Now I've learned to come up with words rather than phone slamming. I never was much of a phone slammer anyway, but it's good to know that you could slam one or even throw it across a room and it would survive the abuse.

Planned obsolescence is a curse of greedy capitalism. I remember those phones well. It'd take a steamroller to damage one!
HNY! Let's hope that it's improved and not just new.
Happy New Year, Mike! Sorry I've not been commenting much but there's many a day when I've come to your blog just to find a reason to smile - and you always provide it! God bless you and your funny bone, my friend.
That's so true!
