There are billions of people and a version of normal to go along with each one of them. No two versions are exactly the same. There will be hundreds of thousands of little things that make up your version of normal. With any luck you can find people that have close to the same idea of what normal is that you do. These are your friends. Anyone else you try to tolerate as best you can. .... The exact definition of normal depends on who's running the asylum.

My teachers wanted me to learn 'rules' when all along I had a special feeling for words. Learning the rules seemed worse than a waste of time; they might even disturb my writer's'voice' .... Ya gotta love English...and the grammarians who try to systematize this wild beautiful ancient evolving force!
I have a old book called 'The History of English'. It goes back to one county in England where English almost died out but made a comeback. I tried to look the book up on google but it seems a lot of people have used that title for books over the years. I should try and find my copy.
And the plural of sister is not cistern.
English plurals amaze me with their variety of forms.
