4852 - The electrons are after me

The electrons are driving me crazy. It started last month when the treadmill died. I took it apart and nothing looked burned up so I went to the knower of all things, google. Oh yeah, other people have had the same problem as me. It could be a control board or the motor. There are people that have really done some in-depth troubleshooting on the treadmill. All the way down to a transistor on the power board and where to get a replacement. What's a new control board cost? $200. What's a new motor cost? $200. This project is on hold.

My plasma TV went out. Off to the google I went. Lots of troubleshooting for this also. Took the TV apart and checked for the obvious problems mentioned on the net. Nope. This will need some in-depth troubleshooting also. This project is on hold.

My son and I were getting the last two cameras installed for the security system. We were up in the attic running wire. My son took a wrong step right through the living room ceiling. About a 4 foot around hole. Plastic has been stapled over the hole. This project is on hold.

My router went out last Thursday. You all know that. What happened? Lightning hit the power pole right next to our house. My son, who was home, thought the house was hit it was so loud. My neighbors thought their house was hit because it was so loud. The pedestal for my phone lines is at the base of this pole. So when the lightning came down the pole it also came in over the phone line. I'm lucky more stuff didn't get zapped. We lost our router and a Roku device. That was it. I called AT&T and didn't have to argue with anyone. The new router was on the way. It showed up Saturday.

When the lightning hit the pole, it blew the ground wire insulator off the pole. The ground wire that was looped around the insulator got blown in half. Instead of an 'O' shape, it's now a 'U' shape hanging in the breeze. They got the power back on but the ground wire is hanging in the hot leads. The hot leads apparently have enough insulation still on them that nothing is shorting out. For now. I was going to take pictures but that project is on hold also.

I think you have used your run of bad luck up for a while. I hope so anyway.

Sounds to me like the Universe is out to get you. Probably because of all the dirty jokes you post on this blog, you sinner.

DSWS - Is it too late to change my ways?! WAIT! I don't want to do that. Oh well, I guess I'll just deal with all the crap coming my way right now.

I'm sorry you seem to be living under the same cloud as me!

Okay, what did you do to warrant this much bad karma? I would have thrown in the towel after the first two and left town for a while. Throw karma off track or something. Get a change of address card. You know, whatever it takes.

MPP - Did I catch up and pass you?

L - 'On Hold' is almost as good as leaving town.

There's a conspiracy against us, Mike. It's the same over here with me. They're out to get us, I tell ya'! Here, sit down for a while. We'll put our heads together and come up with a solution to this madness.

Wishing you all the best! Stay Safe, my friend!

It's amazing how much information can be found by googling, and it is the secret to my repairing many things. Sometimes however you end up in a wormhole and the project remains... On hold.

DG - They're not just out to get me. They got me. And they're tightening the screws.

C - The older electronic stuff was easier to fix. Now it's hard to find schematics.
