5165 - Oh deer

Guess who's visiting now?

Two days ago she was up against our backyard fence but in our neighbors' yard. Our dog ran over to see what was going on and scared it. We thought it went away. Nope. There she was in our front yard up against the house. The picture is right out our front door.

She stayed there the rest of the day.

I checked about 10pm that night and she was gone. I guess mom came and got her. But guess what. She was back yesterday and stayed there all day.

I'll update this tomorrow (today) to see if she's back for a third day.
Last check at 12:30am and she's still there. Where's Mom?
10:00am check. Still there. Never left last night.
4:00pm check. She's eating the grass that she is laying in.
8:00pm check. She's gone! We checked our video cameras. Mom got her about 7:30. We'll see if she comes back tomorrow.
12:00 on Wednesday. Not back yet.

I hope her mama returns for her. I really hope it.

Sue - Me too. I don't need a baby deer to take care of.

At least she's not hawking religion, tree service, or extended warranties.

oh this is sad, she's just a baby. I hope mom didn't abandon her. You may end up feeding a baby deer Mike.

If the baby is gone every evening then Mama Deer has decided you're a safe babysitter.

Looks like you've been chosen. Godparents?

Bill - Roofers are the latest nuisance calls I getting. I don't get people coming to the door anymore.

Peggy - I going to have to look up how to take care of a baby deer.

Grace - I'm going to have to look up how long a mother deer will leave a baby without coming back to it.

Shirley - Right, I'm the chosen one. HA!

Congratulations. Mom has decided you are a trusted caregiver. One might wish spring would last longer so the little ones would be around to enjoy.

Momma Deer is using your yard as a daycare centre. So cute!

Squiregeek - I hope she hangs out here a little longer.

Shaw - She is now!

Deb - This is a new spot for the baby. We have them camp out under three pine trees closer to the fence some years. This is more fun since we can look out the window and see her.
