Well, it's dog hell day in the US. BOOM! Hey, where's the dog?
This was our previous dog, Max. Our present dog, Stella, isn't phased a bit by the booms. Max used to find a closet and hide behind the low hanging clothes.
Anyway, happy fireworks day. I mean the 4th of July. Is July 4th the real signing date? From Wikipedia... "Historians who reject a July 4 signing maintain that most delegates signed on August 2, and that those eventual signers who were not present added their names later." So maybe we should change "Independence Day" to "Close Enough Day". OR! "Scare the Dogs Day".
Anyway...

Happy Independence Day.
The last family dog we had was a German Shepherd. She hated fireworks (not helped because she went blind in her later years).
None of our cats have ever liked them either.
Sue - It's a little after 1 am here and surprisingly it's been kind of quiet (a lot less noisy) so far this year.
I don't remember if any of our childhood pets reacted to fireworks, it was long ago and usually there was a bonfire some way out of town with people setting off rockets and such around it. Pets would have been left at home.
River - Left at home and hiding under the bed.
Happy Fourth of July.
There were some fireworks going off last night. The cat doesn't hear as well as he used to and they didn't bother him at all.
Enjoy the fireworks!
Happy 4th! Wishing you a great day ahead.
Scare the dogs day - that works! We have a fire ban going right now so no fireworks for us which is fine by me because I hate those disgusting, smelly, noisy, wasteful things. I think they terrify birds too. What a kill joy I am.
Kathy - Afew around here but not many.
Deb - I think tonight will be different.
Martha - We're getting ready to hunker down from the heat. Only 94 today. But the next three days... 100, 100, 99.
Lady - The TV people were interviewing a company that does drone shows. The company was going to do 6 shows tonight. They had 400 requests.
July 4th. Great day to jail all the jan 6th seditionists
Boom! Pixie says the closet is best!
Happy 4th!
My dog was never bothered by them thank goodness.
Anon - Yes it would be.
Cloudia - Smart cat.
Peg - Another reason to miss her.
I like fireworks for the spectacle factor but I can't help but think about the fire hazard, the smoke that pollutes and bothers people with asthma, and the animals that are bothered -- all for a few thrills. On balance, I'd be happier without them. Bah, humbug! lol Happy July 4, very late, probably too late, sorry ...
Jenny - I'm still hearing a few booms out there so you're not TOO late.
