5783 - Monday no themememes

The glass has come a long way since then. I'd like to think I started all this nonsense about the glass. I finally got a comment on that post. Thanks, Allen!

They're lined up twenty horses long waiting to get a ticket.

More HOA irritation fodder.

Next time the phone rings...

This is more true than funny.

I have to get one of these.

Shaw, is this true?

I work on this every day.

Thanks for the smiles. I am well on the way to achieving the last.

I got a kick out of the Amish Powerball jackpot. We travel to the Amish/Mennonite country in Pennsylvania often for Agnes's sewing classes, and I always enjoy driving past the "Mifflinburg Buggy Wash."

A couple of 'ripped from the headlines' ones today.

Thanks for the smiles! The first one is great. And so is the last one.

Good ones, LOL! I particularly like the surrealist and artist glasses of water.

Sue - I'm constantly working on that one.

Bill - You need to do a post on the buggy wash.

Kathy - And neither one was a tRUMP meme!

Martha - First and last they're both a blast.

Deb - Are you going to try that today? We want pictures.

Lady - You identified the birds. I'm impressed. But what's the brand of shoe? Hmmmm?

The Utopiast looks like my Brita pitcher. You can never fill it up with water because the filter takes up too much room. There's some deeper meaning in that, but life is too honky dory to consider it.

Cheers, Mike.

Yes, I lost my khakis, but I found them in my pokkahbook! (Another Bostonian word that my SoCal-raised grandson couldn't understand when I asked him to look inside it for the khakis!)

"Pokkahbook"= handbag or purse

Robyn - I knew I was right about HUNKY but I looked this up anyway...
Where did the phrase hunky-dory come from?
This American-coined adjective has been around since the 1860s, from the now-obsolete hunkey, "all right," which stems from the New York slang hunk, "in a safe position," and the Dutch root honk or "home." The origin of dory is unknown.
Also...
Are Hunky Dorys Irish?
Hunky Dorys is the fastest growing crisp brand and the number 1 crinkle cut crisp brand in Ireland. Established in 1996, Hunky Dorys is a truly satisfying chunky alternative to standard crisps.

Shaw - I knew what a pocketbook was. It was a common term for a purse as I was growing up. (a long time ago)

Where did the phrase hunky-dory come from?

An early bad transcription of Homme qui d'REI = a man from the french foreign legion, perhaps?

Stu - It seems there are many theories on the origin.
