5943 - Unknown: Killer Robots

Unknown: Killer Robots is the name of a new Netflix show that has some disturbing info in it. It's mainly about how AI can be used for good or bad. I think it's a well done show that makes some good points.

One interesting point that was made was about two guys that were running an AI program looking to make drugs safer. One day they wondered if the program would work in reverse and come up with dangerous drugs. Was it running on a supercomputer? Nope, a six-year-old laptop. Did it come up with some new deadly drugs? Yep, 40,000 of them. Overnight.

As I said, it's an interesting show that I think everyone should watch.

I think I will pass. I don't want to have yet more to worry about. Particularly when it is yet another thing I cannot change.

Killer Robots? No thank you. Bad enough I have a cat whose claws come out if I try to nudge her over a bit so I have a fair share of the bed.

Sue & River - But I'm working on getting you two assigned as the AI monitors for all of Australia. You'll get to hunt down the killer robots. Sounds exciting doesn't it?

I still don't see why everyone is so spun up about artificial intelligence when we've made such a hash of things with regular intelligence.

AI has some pretty horrifying possibilities.

I'll have to catch that one, AI is disturbing to me on so many levels. But, you can't put Pandora back into the Box now... so, running damage control and sorting out how destructive the use can be is gonna be the next big challenge Society will have to involuntarily face. What is now being Created is being released before due diligence of the Negative consequences are adequately explored. I still think COVID-19 was a Lab experiment gone awry, or, perhaps even intentionally Created as a biological weapon... I never Believed the ridiculous Bat Soup explanation and it kept morphing quicker than anything Natural ever Evolves.

We gave up our Netflix subscription a couple of months ago.

Bill - That will make it even easier for AI to take over.

Deb - Like AI being in charge of all the atomic weapons?

Dawn - I don't think anyone in the West knows for sure, yet, where the virus came from. As for the spread, we have tRUMP to blame for that.

Kathy - I've been trying to watch a little more Netflix just to get my moneys worth out of it since they increased their prices. But I've been thinking of canceling also.

We saw it advertised but didn't head over that way. Now I well.

Well damn. 40,000? How scary.
I can't help but think that the negatives outweigh the positives, but that should not be the case. Then again, AI is created by humanoids. There's that. It's faulty from the get go.

Be well, Mike.

Shaw - Watch the show, You'll be up for a week.

Susan - It's a good show.

Robyn - I don't know if programmers are humanoids. They are faulty for sure.

I'm not surprised. Just add a dash of arsenic or cyanide to every drug out there and--viola!--more dangerous.

Kirk - I think these were viruses.
