I found this site (reddit) when looking for tree posts. Here are two examples...

Here's the link to a plethora of stairs...

I think Escher designed some of them.
Sadly my aging and wobbly legs are not doing staircases (no matter how beautiful or historic) at all well at the moment.

Sue - The 13 steps down and back up from the basement are enough for me.

I noticed that steps were becoming a bit more of a challenge than before. Probably because they've recently turned up the gravity I've noticed. So now I carefully walk up and down steps from time to time just to keep those muscles going. Always interesting Mike. Thank you

Cloudia - Every time I go up or down the gravity of the situation increases.

If the stairs are getting too steep for you Mike, take steps to avoid them.

Stu stole my punny comment. I need to get up earlier.

Makes me think of that old book/movie "Up the Down Staircase."

I would go up (and then down) some of these, but it would take me longer than it used to.

I've found that going down stairs is much harder on my knees than going up stairs. I used to do stairs at work (air traffic control tower) but only climbed up the stairs. I took the elevator going down.

Bill - Or stay up later. 1 PM would do it. Step up your game.

Deb - Nobody has the movie for free. It costs $3.00 to watch it online.

Kathy - A lot more rest stops.

John - Just the opposite for me.

Robyn - Your brain hurts because you're out of breath just THINKING about stairs.

ALL - As a telephone man I worked on the construction of a 42-story building in St. Louis. While it was still under construction I thought I would try and climb to the top via the stairway. I got to the 37th floor and came to a halt. No more stairs. They weren't installed above 37 yet. No, I didn't try it later.

wow. Glad I don't have to climb them but some are so beautiful. A couple reminded me of a beautiful old building I had an apartment in. 6 flights of stairs and they were wide and the railings were gorgeous. I could not live there today. My grandmother came to visit and said the least I could do is have a cocktail at each landing for her. Now I get my grandmother. :-)

So is that staircase in that first picture kind of like a hill?

Mike said...

Peg - 6 flights of stairs to an apartment? No thanks.

Kirk - Yes, and the middle doesn't have any stairs. It's just a straight drop. 😆
