6036 - List of individual trees

I've managed to find another good "lead in" tree post for Thursday Trees.

"List of individual trees.
Trees listed here are regarded as important or specific by their historical, national, locational, natural, or mythological context. The list includes actual trees located throughout the world, as well as trees from myths and religions.

This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness. You can help by adding missing items with reliable sources."

I think I've seen most of those trees on this blog!

ALL trees are important. And too many are being felled.

Kirk - That's very possible.

Sue - It makes me wonder, why after some of these big fires, loggers aren't in there trying to salvage as many downed trees as possible.

A quick scroll shows me that list s far too long to read. I agree with EC though, all trees are precious and too many are being cut down.

I didn't see mention of Shel Silverstein's "Giving Tree," but maybe I missed it in the endless scrolling.

Oh that's pretty cool. I got to clear some time and check that out. Thank you Mike .There is an offshoot of the tree Buddha was enlightened under near where I walk every morning.

River - Maybe read about one tree a day... for the next year! 😜

Bill - You didn't see it because... IT'S A BANNED BOOK!
"Why is The Giving Tree banned in Texas?
The predatory nature in which the boy takes from the woman and how he expects her to cater to his wants and needs without regard to her well-being is a sexist theme of the book, according to many of its readers. The Giving Tree has been challenged and banned throughout history in various schools and states."
