It doesn;t look like much is wrong here does it?
Here's the limb on the house. About half of the branches had been removed.
This was what it looked like after it fell to the ground.
The siding got a little scraped up.
The rain gutter got bent a little.
Here is what is still attached to the tree.
The end of the branch that snapped off the tree.

I got the last half of the big branch mostly cut up. Now I need a bigger chainsaw to finish up.

There'll be a lot of chainsaws busy in the coming days I think. Glad your house is okay.

I almost had a good enough reason to get a big saw, but not quite yet.
A chainsaw is like a pickup truck ... you don't need it often, but when you do, there's nothing else that will do the job.
Wow, that was a helluva big branch! Lucky it didn't do worse damage.
We have a tool collective in the village. So only one guy has a big chainsaw which one can borrow. I have the only AF and whitworth spanners. The usual ones are metric here in Germany.
True. But then it can sit for years. Luckily the two I have are electric but they are limited. But they can sit for years without having to worry if they'll start up.
Well you got me searching the internet Stu. I didn't know there were so many different varieties of wrenches or bolt varieties. Head size, thread angle, thread spacing, etc. In my next life I'll know better.

Metrinch looks interesting but it's expensive. Besides, I have full sets of SAE and metric.

Not sore, just tired. When I got done on the roof I just laid down and though, I'll just stay up here awhile. Nice breeze, nobody can find me...
I wish he was here to take it. Most of the big part of the limb was in good shape.
It could have been much worse.
I cut off the end in the second last picture down to where the bricks were. I though I'm just going to move this over a little on the bricks. HA! It wouldn't budge an inch. I had to get my jack back out to move it.
That is one thick branch that snapped off!
