Stop And Stair
Mall | Portland, OR, USA |
(A customer approaches one of the security guards.)
Customer: “Your escalators are broken.”
Security: “What do you mean by broken?”
Customer: “They aren’t moving.”
Security: “Okay. Which one is it?”
(The customer leads the security guard to the “escalator” and stands on the top step.)
Customer: “See, broken.”
Security: “Sir, those are stairs.”

Thats much sillier than me standing in front of 'manual' glass doors and expecting them to slide open.
When I win the lottery someday I'm gonna put an escalator in place of the steps up to my front porch. Even thought there will only be like three steps.
A - It's far past siller.
J - Were going to have to talk about wasting lottery money. (Sounds like a topic for a BTR show.)
I'm with Jay, but depending on where you live, the hassles would start mounting up. First, you'd have to enclose the damn thing from the elements, which would ruin your view as you rode the thing--plus you wouldn't be seen by your neighbors, and that would limit your gloating satisfaction-- and then you'd have to deal with local government who would impose penalties on you like extra taxes and citations for violating the covenants of your city architecture board, etc. Forget the stairs. Just practice your standing broad jumping skills instead.
