1720 - Sounds

John sent me a link to sounds of the past. Of the past? I think they are all just from yesterday. But like the article says, kids probably have never heard these sounds. Not necessarily MY kids, but young kids, probably. Here's the list from 11 Sounds That Your Kids Have Probably Never Heard.

4. Flash Cube
5. TV Channel Selector
6. Record Changer
7. Gas Station Driveway Bell
8. TV Station Sign-Off
9. Cash Register
10. Film Projector
11. Broken Record (skipping)

2 Good 2 Be 4 Gotten--that's another almost extinct thing from the past. It was written all over autograph books and yearbooks, and it's also similar to the equation Corinne sent you. Both remind me of the old Nat King and Natalie Cole duet, "Unforgettable, that's what you are..."

This was the first time I have come across the term 'Flash Cube'....they look cute.

I think I've heard 6 of those 11 sounds....

I wouldn't have thought of the flash cube and the gas station driveway bell. I think I've written before about old cash registers...the ones that weighted a ton, rang bells, and made a satisfying "ker-CHUNK" when the lever was pulled to lock in the sale. Interesting list. Now I feel old.
