1825 - Homelessness cost

There's an interesting link on the sidebar right now. Politifact is checking out if a statement is true or not that homelessness costs taxpayers $40,000 a year per person. Their conclusion? Mostly true.

(I'm giving this guy a buck.)

From the article...

"They randomly ricochet through very expensive services..."

"We learned that you could either sustain people in homelessness for $35,000 to $150,000 a year, or you could literally end their homelessness for $13,000 to $25,000 a year,"

It's a short but informative article. And it's all true because it's on the internet.

OH OH, Friday the 13th on a Tuesday. Do you know what that means? If you do tell me so we both know.

Those are interesting numbers. There was recently a documentary shown here on homelessness in the US. It highlighted the story of an American family that owned two homes at one time but are currently homeless - sad documentary.

Hmmmm ... I'm not sure about the article, but the concept makes sense.

Okay, great ideas in the article, however if we take those steps to end homelessness, who will keep the streets clear of aluminum cans? Cheers!!

Also, if we end homelessness, there won't be any stinky guys talking to me about random shit at the library. It would be boring to do down there.

A - The problem is with defaulting on a home loan is the home owner usually gets zero dollars out of the transaction.

EPT - Yes it is.

D - It's all about numbers and numbers don't lie, do they?

MM - Hey! I just thought of a new business opportunity for you.

L - Yep.

J - Just let me know when you need some company. I'll be right down. Right after I invent cold fusion.
