This is a special trees edition...
From the post I found...
"It's that magical time of the year when the city of Johannesburg and Pretoria turn into a purple wonderland! It's Jacaranda season.
They are an integral part of our summers and with the blossoms in season between October and November, now is the perfect time to head out to observe them."
I wanted you to see the pictures I found before I sent you HERE.

"It looked like heaven had fallen to earth in the form of Gardenia's".
Its said that the name "JACARANDA" is the true African origin of the song: "# JACK BE NIMBLE, JACK BE QUICK, JACK DUCK UNDER LIMBO STICK #".
They are glorious trees - but goodness those fallen blossoms make the ground slippery...
LJ - Jacaranda is Portuguese for rosewood.
Sue - I read up a little more on these trees and they are considered invasive in most countries.
I wouldn't want to ride a motorcycle through the fallen blossoms.
Such a beautiful colour!
They are truly gorgeous, but I agree with everyone who dreaded the effect of the fallen blossoms on walking or driving.
My son had one of these in the strip between the sidewalk and street when he lived in the Bay Area. Beautiful, but messy.
So gorgeous and unique!
CC - I'm a purple kind of guy.
Bill - They are definitely not an old person's tree.
Kathy - I don't think I've ever seen one around here. There probably is in someone's backyard.
Deb - If they weren't so invasive they would make a nice addition to the color in the northeast.
Wow! That's amazing.. I never realized that happened there. How wonderful for them!
Allen - Awesome isn't it?
Stunning - especially en masse. I hadn't thought about the effect of the fallen blossoms. It's a shame there's that downside.
Jenny - Just concentrate on the stunning part.
Beautiful!
Stu - Yes they are. Too bad they're considered invasive. I'd like to plant a couple of them.
Charming.
I wish I could go there and see them live!
Victor - Agreed.
