1146 - Proverbs (revised)

Bandit sent this to me. It didn't look like it had been around much. I looked up the name on the first part of the email where it looked like it originated. And what do you know. The gal is a teacher in a local middle school. So unless she posted this and just didn't email it, you could be in on an original Internet jok.... funny ...... something.

OK, so I gave my kiddos some proverbs to finish for yesterday's journal. . . Too funny :)

A bird in the hand . . .
…might fly away.
…will peck you.
…could bite any second.

A stitch in time. . .
…is a memory.
…is a flashback.
…is a mighty stitch!

You can lead a horse to water. . .
…if it is thirsty.
…and then it knows its way back.
…but you can't lead the water to the horse.
…if you have a carrot.

The pen is mightier than. . .
…the pencil.
…the paper.
…than the toughest eraser.

Time flies when you . . .
…pay attention.
…toss the clock out the window.

People who live in glass houses. . .
…have no privacy.
…don't need windows.
…won't survive a tornado.
…get sunburned.
…have no secrets.
…can see the stars.
…always need blouses!
…need less blouses.
…spend lots of money on windex.

These are from Waterloo, IL. Jr. Hi wjere Linda teaches. The sixth grade Language Arts teacher made this assignment just a few days ago.

Waterloo is a suburb of St. Louis right over the river.
